Kenya Association of Muslim Medical Professionals
The Kenya Association of Muslim Medical Professionals (KAMMP), an independent, professional, nonprofit organization established and registered in 1998 comprising of a wide range of Muslim Health Care professionals in Kenya from different Cadres, including Medical Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacists, Dentists, Nutritionists, Psychologists, and other Allied Professionals from Kenya and Globally.
All these professionals have come under the umbrella of this organization on a voluntary basis, for the purpose of building brotherhood within the Ummah through various outreach programs to the community, as well as enhancing professional development and providing a networking platform to improve healthcare and service delivery, both nationally and globally.
KAMMP was formed with the following objectives:
- To promote Islamic medical activities including health services, education and research, through cooperation and coordination among member organizations.
- To enhance the unity and welfare of Muslim medical and health care professionals in the country.
- To educate on importance and application of Islamic principles in the field of medicine.
- To strive in providing medical care and relief to affected areas and communities.
- To promote member capacity building through exchange of medical information and technical expertise among member organizations.
KAMMP is a member of the Federation of Islamic Medical Association (FIMA) and works in close collaboration with Green Crescent Societies which work in liaison with the UN and WHO. KAMMP works closely with several professional bodies, The Ministry of Health as well as International Organizations such as Green Crescent Societies which work in liaison with the UN and WHO. KAMMP is also a member of the Federation of Islamic Medical Association (FIMA), an umbrella body of several Islamic Medical Associations globally.
