Please note:
The Abstract Review Committee independently decides whether to Approve, Partially Approve, or Not Approve submitted abstracts. They also have the final say on the presentation format. If an abstract is approved and the author indicated a preference for Oral Presentation, the Abstract Review Committee needs to give approval on whether to accept it for Oral or Poster Presentation. If an approved abstract was submitted with a preference for poster presentation, it is up to the Abstract Review Committee to decide whether or not to accept it as a poster presentation only.
Kindly note that while this call is seeking both oral and poster presentations, early submission before the deadline is more likely to secure opportunities for plenary talks.
The most frequent reasons for rejecting an abstract could be:
– Not properly written or not understandable
– No new information provided
– Preliminary work not yet finalized
– Promotional in nature
– Previously published
– Duplicate of another abstract
STEP 3: GUIDANCE FOR APPROVED ABSTRACTS
- Register for the conference
All Delegates with approved abstracts are required to register for the conference in advance by 15th October 2024 to secure their time slots. The registration fee is the same as for non-presenters. No one will be admitted to the presentation area without an official KAMMP Conference Badge.

Format: The presentation slides must be uploaded in PowerPoint (.pptx, .ppt).
Number of slides: The total size of presentation should not exceed 10 slides.
Arrangement: It is recommended each section of the abstract be on its own slide, e.g. Option 1:
- Title, author, and Affiliations: 1 slide
- Introduction: 2 slides
- Methods: 1 slide
- Results: 2 slides
- Discussion: 2 slides
- Conclusions: 1 slide
- Acknowledgement: 1 slide

Any poster that overlaps an adjoining board will be removed.
- Arrange the sections chronologically. E.g. for Option 2, start from the top to bottom within a single column, or divided across two columns side by side:
- Title

- Next Steps
- Acknowledgements with logos
- Keep text to a minimum, emphasize graphics, and make sure every item in the poster is necessary.
- Posters must correspond directly with the original abstract submitted.

- The use of colour makes the poster more effective and attractive. A neutral or grey colour as the background will be easier for the viewer than a bright colour. In addition, colour photos look best when mounted on grey.
- A font size of at least 28pt is recommended to ensure the text is legible from a good distance.
- Posters should be made from thin poster paper or lightweight cardboard. Do not use other materials, such as heavy cardboard, fabric, plastic, vinyl, or tarpaulin, as they generally prove difficult to secure on the poster board and often fall off the board.
- Poster numbers (e.g. p010) will be indicated at each panel.
- Posters should be affixed to the boards with double-sided tape or Velcro, which will be provided. No pins or tacks are allowed.
